Assessment information:

  • This is a time-constrained assignment and you have to plan your time in advance.
  • This assignment is a simulation of a 3-hour exam. Instead of three hours, you will have more than a month to complete the assignment.
  • Assignment structure:
    • A. Industry evolution and strategic change (50%)
    • B. Global strategies and the multinational corporation (50%)
  • The assignment brief will include very similar exercises with the Workshop Exercises (see VLE).
  • You will apply theory from the classes and readings to your analysis.
  • The length of your assignment can be less than 3,000 words but no more than 3,000 words. It is up to you to determine the length of your answer to each section of the assignment. Be wary of the 3000-word limit for the whole assignment.
  • You should use font point 11, single spacing, and 1-inch margins. You should provide a reference list using the Harvard Referencing Style. The reference list is not included in the word count.
  • Remember that there is no single correct answer to strategic management. A good analysis contains a careful analysis of the situation, supported by relevant conceptual frameworks.
  • Remember this is an exam simulation. Your lecturer will not look at any part of your assignment before the submission. You will receive feedback within 20 working days.

It is your responsibility to know when work is due to be submitted – ignorance of the deadline date will not be accepted as a reason for late or non-submission.

IMPORTANT: You are allowed to submit assignments up to five working days after the published (or extended) deadline. If you do so, the element of assessment to which the assignment contributes will be capped at 40%.

You are requested to keep a copy of your work.
