In completion of this assessment, you will demonstrate that you are able to:

• Examine the contribution of HRM and HRD to sustained organisational performance analysing components of a high performance culture that supports creativity, innovation and learning.
• Compare different approaches to enhancing creative thinking in yourself and others by analysing the influence of knowledge and learning on individual and group behaviour.

In order to pass the assessment you will need to:

• Identify practical, cognitive or emotional blocks to creative idea generation and explain how these might be overcome using structured techniques.
• Analyse the ways in which knowledge and learning can be leveraged to achieve maximum impact on individual and group behaviour and organisational performance. 

Task:

1. Working in groups, use the Creative Problem Solving process (CPS) to address the problems being encountered by Optimal Insulation Group Ltd. (OIG). This case study is provided. This will take place in workshop activities during and outside class time. Detailed guidance on CPS will be provided in classes.
2. Write a report reflecting on the blocks to creative idea generation you and your group faced and how the CPS process helped to overcome these blocks.  Your analysis and reflections must be supported by influential theoretical contributions throughout.
